Privacy notice.
How The Mayfair Organization handles personal information on this website and in email.
Template: to be checked by a solicitor before publishing. Wording in square brackets still needs to be filled in. Nothing on this page is legal advice.
Who we are
The Mayfair Organization (“Mayfair”, “we”, “us”) is a private parent company. We are the controller of the personal information described in this notice. [Registered company name, company number and registered office address to be inserted.]
You can contact us at hello@mayfairorg.com.
What this notice covers
This notice covers this website, mayfairorg.com, and the emails you send to us. The businesses and software of the group may have their own notices, which apply to their own services.
What we collect
We keep the amount of information we collect small.
- Messages you send us. By email, or through the contact form once it is connected to a mailbox: your name, your work email address, your company if you give it, the topic you choose, the content of your message and anything else you choose to tell us.
- Your cookie choice. This is stored in your own browser. It is not sent to us.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. [Hosting provider to be named.]
- Fonts. This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser sends a request, which includes your IP address, to Google.
This site has no accounts. It does not use analytics or advertising trackers. The contact form and the newsletter signup are not connected to a mailbox yet, so for now nothing typed into either is sent or stored by the site.
How we use it, and why
- To reply to your enquiry. Our legal basis is our legitimate interests in running the business, or taking steps at your request before a contract.
- To keep the site secure and working. Our legal basis is our legitimate interests.
- To send a newsletter, once signups are connected. Our legal basis would be your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To meet legal obligations, where they apply.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We may share it with service providers who help us run the site and our email, under contracts that protect it, and where the law requires. [List of providers to be inserted.]
Transfers outside the UK
Some providers, including Google for fonts, may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, we expect appropriate safeguards to be in place, such as the UK addendum to standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision. [To be confirmed.]
How long we keep it
We keep emails for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow up, and then delete them in line with our retention schedule. [Retention periods to be confirmed.]
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- be told how your information is used, which this notice does
- ask for a copy of your information
- ask us to correct information that is wrong
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to restrict how we use it
- object to us using it, including where we rely on legitimate interests
- ask for it in a portable format, where that applies
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it
To use any of these rights, email hello@mayfairorg.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, and we would ask you to contact us first so we can try to put things right.
